I am not afraid of the Trump administration — the Pope of Rome
Pope Leo XIV stated that he would not engage in any disputes and would continue to call the world to peace and reconciliation.

The head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, responded to criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump against the backdrop of the Iran war. He emphasized that the Vatican's position is based on Gospel teachings and stated he would not be intimidated by the Trump administration.
It is reported that the Pope, in an interview given to journalists during his flight to Algeria, stressed that his statements were not a political attack. According to him, calls for peace and reconciliation are the Church's primary duty, and he will not renounce it.
Pope Leo XIV stated that equating his message with Trump's statements is incorrect and indicates a misunderstanding of the essence of the Gospel message. He also emphasized that he would not engage in arguments but would firmly continue his position as an advocate for peace.
The Pope mentioned the "illusion of omnipotence" that fuels wars and called on the world to preserve peace against the backdrop of the conflict with Iran and other global disputes.
"We are not politicians and view foreign policy from a different perspective," he said. At the same time, he noted the necessity of dialogue and multilateral cooperation to resolve problems between states.
Pope Leo XIV stated that he would continue to promote peace, seek ways to avoid wars, and consider calling people to reconciliation as his mission.
According to him, many innocent people are dying today, and that is precisely why voices are needed to say there is a better way.
It was previously reported that after Trump criticized the Roman Pontiff's statements on peace, he posted a picture depicting himself as a "healing saint."
