The name of a Russian-language village in Kyrgyzstan will be changed — Sadyr Japarov
This process is planned to be completed by 2027.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov announced plans to change the names of villages in the country from Russian to Kyrgyz. He mentioned this during a meeting with residents of the Alay district in the Osh region as reported.
According to the head of state, this initiative is aimed at strengthening national identity and cultural heritage, with the process planned to be completed by 2027.
"We are currently planning to change the Russian names of villages across the entire republic. We aim to complete this process next year," he said.
At the same time, the president also noted that a decision had been made to prohibit naming settlements after individuals. In his opinion, this practice often leads to divisions in society.
"People split into groups and argue over whose name should be given. We have seen such situations many times," said Japarov.
However, following this statement, when Russia's TASS and RIA Novosti agencies contacted the president's press service, the head of state's representative, Askat Alagozov, clarified that the discussion was not about changing Russian names, but specifically about the ban on naming places after individuals.
At the same time, no information about the mass renaming of villages from Russian has been provided on the president's official website. However, videos circulating on social networks show Japarov addressing this issue.
