The director who took a 2 million som bribe from a deputy in Surkhandarya has been detained.
The state official demanded money in exchange for providing employment to a shrinking deputy.

A school principal in Termiz district of Surkhandarya region was found guilty of taking a bribe and sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment.
According to court documents, the individual, born in 1987, had been working as the principal of one of the district's general education schools since October 2025. In December 2025, B.Kh., who had been working at the same school as a deputy principal for spiritual and educational affairs at a 0.5 rate, appealed to him for help due to staff reductions.
It was revealed that the principal, in violation of labor legislation, informed the applicant that she could not be hired for the position of school counselor because she was a woman, and instead offered her either allocated teaching hours for music or placement in a psychologist position.
At the same time, he stated that he was spending personal funds to improve the school's heating system and, in exchange for providing employment, demanded 2 million soums as "assistance money."
On January 8, 2026, the principal received 1 million soums in cash and her bank plastic card from B.Kh. near the school. Later, he withdrew another 1 million soums from the card via an ATM.
It was reported that after some time passed and the employment issue remained unresolved, the victim demanded the money back. During an investigation conducted by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the principal returned the money.
In the criminal case, the Termiz District Court found him guilty under Article 210 of the Criminal Code (bribe-taking). According to the court's verdict, he was sentenced to deprivation of the right to hold official positions for 2 years and imprisonment for 4 years.
