Mobile communication will be restricted in Moscow on the eve of May 9.
SMS sending services and even the operation of special internet resources that must function during restrictions may also be suspended.

On the eve of the military parade scheduled for May 9 in Moscow, widespread restrictions on mobile communications and internet services are expected to be implemented. This was reported by the BBC, citing sources, in a news item.
It has been reported that mobile communications will be completely restricted in the Russian capital on May 5, 7, and 9. Additionally, SMS services and even the operation of internet resources on a special "whitelist," which are supposed to function during the restrictions, may also be suspended.
Sources indicated that the restrictions will apply not only in the city center but also within the area of the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD), which encircles the city of Moscow.
Earlier, since the beginning of March, mobile internet in central Moscow had been observed to be regularly disconnected. As a result, navigation systems, payment terminals, and some services stopped working. Internet service was restored on March 24 without any official explanation.
Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the internet outages were related to security issues.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the program for the parade on Red Square on May 9 has been changed. According to this, for the first time since 2007, a column of military equipment will not participate. The Kremlin stated that the event will be held in a "reduced format," citing security-related factors and the fact that the date is not an anniversary as the reasons.
