Kazakhstan to introduce the position of Vice President: Parliament approves the draft law
The Vice-President is appointed by the President with the consent of the Qurultoy. His powers are determined by separate documents of the President.

Kazakhstan's parliament has approved the draft constitutional law "On the President" in its first reading. The document also envisions the introduction of the position of vice president in the country. This was reported by informburo.kz in a news article.
It was reported that the draft law was presented to parliament by Minister of Justice Yerlan Sarsembayev. According to him, the document was developed as part of the implementation of the new Constitution adopted on March 15.
According to the draft, the vice president is appointed by the president with the consent of the Qurultai. His powers are defined by separate presidential documents.
The minister emphasized that this will allow for a more flexible organization of state governance and rapid adaptation to practical tasks. The activities of the vice president will be supported by the administration of the head of state.
It is noted that the vice president works with the Qurultai, the government, and other state bodies on behalf of the president, and participates in negotiations as the president's representative. If the president leaves office early, his powers are transferred to the vice president.
Additionally, the draft law retains the norms of a single seven-year presidential term, the non-partisanship of the head of state, and the prohibition on his close relatives holding leadership positions.
At the same time, the president will have the following powers:
— Approving the composition of the "Qazaqstan Xalq Kengesi";
— Appointing the Commissioner for Human Rights;
— Issuing decrees with the force of law during periods when the Qurultai is not in session.
The draft law was approved by parliament in its first reading.
