During the working visit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, got acquainted with the mosque built by the Uzbek side in the city of Turkistan. The press service of the President reported this.

It was reported that the total area of the complex exceeds 7 hectares, and it can accommodate more than 5,000 people for prayer. The magnificent ensemble consists of four 70-meter minarets and a three-story main building, which includes the main hall and traditional verandas (aiwans).

The cathedral mosque, built in accordance with the best traditions of Islamic and Oriental architecture, harmoniously combines national patterns, oriental domes, tall minarets, and modern construction technologies. Examples of Islamic calligraphy and ornamental art are widely used in the interior decoration of the mosque.

Special attention is also being paid to the landscaping of the surrounding 4.2 hectares. Green areas, pathways, recreation areas, lighting systems, decorative structures, and fountains are being established here.

It was emphasized that this magnificent complex, completed by the Uzbek side as a gift to the fraternal people of Kazakhstan and the population of Turkistan, is a vivid expression of the centuries-old friendship and cultural closeness, good neighborliness, and allied relations between the two countries.

Verses from the Quran were recited, and a prayer was offered, wishing peace and prosperity to the fraternal peoples.
