In the city of Bishkek, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif.

 

 

At the beginning of the conversation, the head of state sincerely congratulated Pakistan on assuming the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

 

 

It was particularly noted that the historic visit to Islamabad in February this year and the high-level meetings held there have elevated our relations to a new qualitative stage.

 

 

During the dialogue, views were exchanged on further expanding the scope of cooperation in trade-economic, investment, and transport-logistics spheres.

 

The meeting also focused on issues of developing interregional cooperation and humanitarian ties. In particular, it was noted that preparations are underway to hold an Interregional Forum in the city of Khiva this year, and plans have been made to organize Days of Uzbek Culture and Cinema in Pakistan.

 

An agreement was reached to adopt a joint "roadmap" with the aim of accelerating projects in textiles, medicine, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and other important sectors.
