According to reports, over the past 24 hours, 15 people have died due to flash floods in the northern province of Baghlan, two people in the northeastern province of Badakhshan, and one person in the central province of Wardak.
The press secretary of the governor of Baghlan province stated that dozens of people were injured as a result of the floods.
According to local officials in Badakhshan province, two people are missing, and more than 100 homes have been destroyed.
Heavy rains, which have been ongoing since Wednesday, have caused floods in several areas of Afghanistan. On Thursday, it was reported that another six people had died in other provinces of the country.
A representative of Afghanistan's National Disaster Management Authority said that 11 people were injured in the last 24 hours.
The adverse weather observed in the country since the end of March has caused floods and landslides, causing significant damage to homes and agricultural land.
In April, at least 148 people died and 137 were injured in Afghanistan due to heavy rain and floods.
Experts emphasize that the weakness of Afghanistan's infrastructure and climate change are causing an increase in extreme weather events.
