This year there was a lot of rain, and the problem became clear — the governor of Samarkand region.
Samarkand streets were flooded. The regional governor has given instructions to take systematic measures to prevent this situation from recurring.

On May 23, heavy rain observed in several areas of Samarkand region resulted in water accumulation and flooding on some streets. The regional administration's information service reported this.
According to the report, the regional governor Adiz Boboyev, along with representatives of relevant organizations, visited Chuquryo'l Street in Samarkand city to assess the situation on site.
Instructions were given to those responsible for eliminating water accumulation in the area, improving the drainage system, and preventing the recurrence of such incidents.
"There will be rain for another 4-5 days. As soon as the rain stops, you will start work immediately. We will deploy equipment to 4-5 locations at once, and we need to fully drain the water into the stream using two 1600-sized pipes. What kind of situation is this? It's completely impossible to walk. Work must begin," said the governor.
Additionally, the governor also visited Namozgoh Street in Samarkand city. It was noted that the path of the Maroqand ditch passing through this area is blocked by various waste and blockages. This caused rainwater to overflow onto the street. Relevant work is currently being carried out there as well.
The governor instructed responsible agencies and representatives of utility services to take systematic measures to prevent such situations from recurring in the future, particularly to keep water flow paths under constant monitoring and to intensify efforts to clean water channels.
"There was a lot of rain this year, and the problem became clear. It could be the same next year. Now, to prevent such a situation from recurring, you will conduct a full inventory of the city once. Wherever there is such a problem, not a single place should be left out. Whatever funds are needed, we will review and redo everything," said Adiz Boboyev.
According to information, more than 20 specialized water-pumping vehicles from the Emergency Management Department have been deployed in Samarkand city to eliminate water accumulation incidents.
