President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, on June 4. The President's press service reported this.
It was reported that at the beginning of the meeting, Li Jiachao conveyed to the head of state the sincere greetings and best wishes from President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.

The meeting discussed issues of further developing Uzbekistan-China cooperation, including through expanding interregional exchanges and practical cooperation with Hong Kong.
During the conversation, it was noted with great satisfaction that in recent years, the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and China in the new era have risen to an unprecedented level.
It was noted that the agreements reached at the highest level are being consistently implemented. In May, the Intergovernmental Commission meeting was successfully held in Beijing, and the third Interregional Forum in Xi'an, an economic forum and industrial exhibition took place in Hong Kong, and the Uzbekistan Trade House was opened.
Special attention was paid to the importance of effectively utilizing the existing potential for developing economic cooperation between Uzbekistan's regions and Hong Kong. The importance of adopting a comprehensive cooperation program was emphasized, which envisages expanding trade, economic, and financial ties, establishing industrial cooperation, developing education, tourism, and business exchanges, as well as launching direct flights and providing consular services to citizens.
"Green" energy, agriculture, biotechnologies, digital economy, fintech, innovative startups, artificial intelligence, and others were noted as priority areas.
An agreement was reached on adopting a joint "roadmap" for priority areas of cooperation, as well as establishing a Business Council and introducing a visa-free regime with Hong Kong on a bilateral basis in the near future.
