The lights went out in the Tashkent metro: traffic has stopped.
The power supply interruptions were caused by a transformer malfunction at the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant.

According to the information from the Tashkent Metro, around 12:41 on June 4, a short-term power outage occurred on the Uzbekistan, Chilonzor, and Yunusobod lines due to an accident in the city's electrical networks. This situation affected the movement of trains and the lighting systems at stations.
As reported by the Metro, the situation was promptly brought under control. Backup generators were activated to ensure traffic safety, allowing the system to maintain stable operation until full restoration.
Currently, train movement continues under the supervision of responsible services. Apologies have been offered for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
The Ministry of Energy previously stated that the outages were caused by a transformer malfunction at the Tashkent Thermal Power Plant. The accident was resolved at 13:01, and by 13:22, electricity supply was fully restored to all consumers.
