In Uzbekistan, over 2 trillion soums of citizens' funds have been stolen as a result of cybercrimes. This was reported by Mirzokhon Zubaydullayev, head of the Department for Combating Cybercrime under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at the Senate's plenary session on June 13, as announced.
According to him, in 2025, 49.6 percent of all crimes recorded in the country were cybercrimes. The number of such crimes has been steadily increasing since 2021.
It was noted that the methods of committing cybercrimes are also becoming more complex. In recent years, their types have increased from 18 to 64. In 96 percent of cases, cyber theft and cyber fraud were committed through electronic payment systems.
At the Senate session, it was announced that the Central Bank, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General's Office have jointly established a special system to combat cybercrimes. Through this system, citizens can have their bank cards blocked and the movement of funds stopped within 24 hours of filing an appeal.
According to the ministry representative, over the past five months, the illegal transfer of 1.7 trillion soums abroad has been prevented. Additionally, 10,250 bank cards linked to crimes have been blocked.
As stated by Mirzokhon Zubaydullayev, in 2026, the rate of solving cybercrimes has improved by 3.5 times, and the detection of such crimes has improved by 5 times.
