In Uzbekistan, those who have not handed over old cars for recycling will pay a fine.
Cars that are 30 years old or older will be purchased from their owners at market price and sent for disposal.

Uzbekistan plans to gradually introduce a system for the disposal of vehicles that have exceeded their service life. The Waste Management Agency reported this.
According to the report, cars that are 30 years or older from the date of manufacture will be purchased from their owners at market price and sent for disposal.
The initiative was developed to reduce atmospheric air pollution, ensure environmental sustainability, and decrease the volume of harmful emissions from vehicles.
Under the project, citizens who turn in their old car for disposal may receive an electronic voucher for the purchase of a new car, or its value may be paid out in cash. The electronic voucher will provide the opportunity to purchase new cars manufactured in Uzbekistan on preferential terms.
Additionally, a discount will be applied in the amount specified in the electronic voucher, and the remaining amount can be paid in installments over a period of more than one year.
The project also envisions introducing an environmental compensation for citizens who do not turn in their old cars for disposal on time. According to this, owners of such vehicles will be required to make a payment once a year in the amount of 30 times the base calculation value.
It is noted that the disposal system is widely used in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the USA, Japan, and a number of other countries.
