The list of rare animals prohibited from hunting in Uzbekistan has been approved.
From August 1, a temporary ban will be imposed on hunting certain rare and highly endangered wild animals. The restriction will remain in effect until January 1, 2028.

A temporary ban on hunting certain rare and endangered wild animals has been introduced in Uzbekistan. This was stipulated in a relevant resolution of the government adopted on June 30.
According to the resolution, the ban will be in effect from August 1, 2026, to January 1, 2028, and will apply to the species of wild animals listed in the appendix to the government resolution.
This restriction does not apply to wild animals kept or bred in farms, nurseries, incubators, fish hatcheries, and pond farms, nor to cases of hunting for scientific and medical purposes.
Additionally, the resolution also prohibits the allocation of hunting quotas for rare and endangered wild animals that are banned from hunting.
The document also provides for additional measures to restore aquatic bioresources. In particular, from August 1, 2026, to January 1, 2030, at least 15 tons of fish fry will be released annually into rivers and streams flowing through the country's central cities.
These activities will be carried out based on a list to be compiled by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change and the Academy of Sciences.
Furthermore, the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change has been tasked with strengthening control against illegal hunting and poaching, while relevant ministries and agencies have been assigned the responsibility of ensuring the implementation of the resolution.
