Uzbekistan is entering the hottest period of the year. In the second half of July, the air temperature will be above the climatic norm, and in some regions it may reach up to 45 degrees. The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change reported this.
According to the report, July is traditionally the hottest month in the republic. The average daytime air temperature is 35–37 degrees, and in southern and desert areas, it is 38–40 degrees. During periods of intense heatwaves, the temperature may rise to 40–42 degrees, and in some places to 43–45 degrees.
It is noted that in recent years, the number of extremely hot days in the country has been increasing. All July months of the past decade have been hotter than the climatic norm, and nine of them are among the ten hottest Julys in the history of meteorological observations.
According to forecasts, by the end of the first ten days of July, the daytime air temperature will rise to 37–40 degrees, and in southern regions to 41–43 degrees. Until the end of the month, the temperature will vary from 33–38 degrees to 38–43 degrees, and in some parts of the northern, desert, and southern regions, it may reach up to 45 degrees.
Additionally, the average temperature in July is expected to be 1.5–3 degrees above the climatic norm. The month will mostly be characterized by dry weather, with precipitation below the norm. Only in some foothill and mountainous areas may short-term rain and thunderstorms occur.
Experts urge the population to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, consume sufficient fluids, and pay special attention to the health of children, the elderly, and citizens with chronic diseases.
