As a result of the storm, the vestibule of the "Trubnaya" metro station was flooded. Tram service was suspended on Verkhniy Susalniy Lane due to fallen trees. Additionally, the roof of one of the buildings in the "Vinzavod" complex was blown off, and several summer verandas in the city center were damaged.
Two men watching football at the "Trud" stadium on the Warsaw Highway were struck by lightning. As a result, they lost consciousness.
According to weather forecasters, heavy rainfall will continue until Monday. During this time, up to 90% of the July precipitation norm may fall on the Moscow area.
The Moscow city administration urged residents not to use personal cars unless necessary and to travel by metro. Heavy rain was also observed in St. Petersburg on Saturday evening.
