Mujtaba Khomanai did not attend his father's funeral ceremony.
This has been caused by security-related threats.

Funeral ceremonies for the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, are ongoing. Farewell ceremonies being held in five cities are planned to continue until July 9.
However, the current Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has not yet appeared at the farewell ceremonies for his father, reports Nur.kz, citing The New York Times.
Earlier, the head of the committee organizing Ali Khamenei's funeral, Akbar Purjamshidiyon, stated that the issue of Mojtaba Khamenei's participation in the ceremony was not within his authority.
According to The New York Times, citing two anonymous members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mojtaba Khamenei's security service did not allow him to attend the ceremony due to concerns about a possible assassination attempt by Israel or that his location could be revealed through his travel route.
According to the publication, Mojtaba Khamenei wanted to participate in some parts of the funeral. Specifically, he planned to attend the ceremony at the Imam Reza shrine in the city of Mashhad on July 9 and recite the funeral prayer for his father.
So far, Iranian officials have not issued an official statement regarding Mojtaba Khamenei's absence from the funeral ceremony.
