A cooperation program was signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
Within the framework of the official visit of the delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, to Ashgabat, a series of meetings and negotiations were held with the leadership of Turkmenistan.

On July 14, 2026, a delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, visited Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on an official trip.

During the visit, the delegation was received by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. At the meeting, sincere greetings and best wishes from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed.

During the dialogue, it was noted that strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan is consistently developing, political dialogue has intensified, and the volume of mutual trade is steadily growing. The parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen centuries-old friendship and good neighborly relations.
Additionally, Bakhtiyor Saidov held narrow-format negotiations with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov. The discussions covered issues of implementing agreements reached at the highest level, continuing political dialogue, and expanding trade-economic, transport-logistics, energy, cultural-humanitarian, and cross-border cooperation.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of ensuring international information security and a cooperation program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for 2027–2028 were signed.
During the visit, the next round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries also took place. The parties exchanged views on the implementation of instructions from the heads of state, priority areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as issues on the regional and international agenda.
The parties emphasized that the mechanism of political consultations serves to further strengthen regular dialogue between foreign policy agencies.
