The procedure for providing temporary shelter to homeless individuals has been established.
Homeless individuals are identified by internal affairs and social workers in streets, train stations, markets, and other public places.

The procedure for placing persons without a fixed place of residence in temporary shelter and social rehabilitation centers in Uzbekistan has been established. This is stipulated in the administrative regulation approved by Government Resolution No. 447 dated August 18.
According to it, internal affairs officers and social workers providing comprehensive social services in neighborhoods will regularly identify homeless persons on streets, at railway stations, markets, underground passages, in buildings not intended for habitation, and other public places. They will be offered the use of the services of the Temporary Shelter and Social Rehabilitation Center.
An adult homeless person applies directly to the center for placement. If they have minor children, they are also placed in the center together with their father or mother.
Persons brought to the center undergo a medical examination at the emergency admission departments of medical institutions at the district or city level.
If the person is not found to have a need for urgent medical care or infectious diseases that would prevent placement in the center, they are admitted to the center.
Filling out the application form by the homeless person signifies their consent to placement in the center and compliance with its internal rules.
After the application form is completed, the person is placed in the center for up to 7 days. In certain specified cases, the period of stay in the center may be extended up to 6 months.
Earlier, new proposals aimed at improving the system of providing social services to persons without a fixed place of residence were presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
During the presentation, it was announced that existing rehabilitation institutions are planned to be transformed into temporary shelter and social rehabilitation centers.
