Nearly 10 Uzbek citizens are being investigated in Turkey over suspicious money transfers.
Some of them are being held in a penal institution by court order, while others are being held in a deportation center.

An investigation is underway in Turkey's Aydin province regarding a case involving suspicious money transfers made through bank cards of Uzbek citizens. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reported this.
According to preliminary information received from the relevant structures of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs, investigative and inquiry proceedings are currently being conducted against approximately 10 Uzbek citizens.
It was noted that some of them are being held in a penal institution by court order, while others are being held in a deportation center. Another group has been released on the condition of not leaving the country, and investigative actions against them are ongoing.
The legal measures applied to the citizens are being determined based on their degree of involvement in the situation, the amount of funds transferred through their bank accounts, and other circumstances identified during the investigation.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul is monitoring the situation in cooperation with the relevant Turkish authorities. Necessary consular and legal assistance is being provided within the framework of protecting the legal rights and interests of the citizens.
The Consulate General called on citizens not to give their bank cards, account numbers, and mobile banking services to third parties, as well as not to accept or transfer funds of unknown origin.
It was noted that providing a bank card or account number for use by other persons, as well as intermediating in the transfer of funds of unknown origin, may result in serious legal liability under Turkish law.
