The presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan met with media representatives.
The leaders of the two countries expressed their views on the results of the negotiations. The signing of the Treaty on Eternal Friendship between the two states was noted as the most important outcome of the historic visit.

At a meeting with media representatives, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev shared their views on the outcomes of the negotiations held within the framework of the Azerbaijani President's state visit to Uzbekistan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with deep satisfaction that the Azerbaijani President's state visit to Uzbekistan is, without exaggeration, of historic significance.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted the signing of the Treaty on Eternal Friendship as the most important outcome of the summit. According to the President, this document reflects the joint aspiration to further deepen cooperation between the two countries, expand existing opportunities, and build a shared future.
Within the framework of the visit, the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council was also held, which has become an effective mechanism for developing and implementing new initiatives to deepen allied relations.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that Azerbaijan's economy is developing steadily and the country's prestige in the international arena is growing. He also once again congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and the return of its ancestral lands.
Special attention at the meeting was also paid to the issue of rebuilding Karabakh, where social infrastructure is being rapidly constructed and new jobs are being created.
"Azerbaijan is our reliable ally, strategic partner, and a fraternal state. At the core of our relations lies a single civilizational code — shared historical roots, centuries-old friendship, similar culture, and traditions," said the leader of Uzbekistan.
It was noted that serious preparation had been carried out for the summit. In particular, meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, as well as the Regions Forum, were held effectively.
During the negotiations, the Presidents thoroughly discussed all aspects of the multifaceted relations and listened to reports from the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on key areas. These primarily covered issues of cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, energy, transport, culture, and other sectors.
The parties agreed to further strengthen political dialogue and support active ties between parliaments, governments, sectoral agencies, and regions.
The main focus of the negotiations was on economic issues. Opportunities for increasing the volume of trade turnover to $1 billion were considered. A corresponding program containing specific measures to achieve this important milestone was also adopted.
New growth points were identified in industrial cooperation. Within the framework of preparations for the visit, a substantial portfolio of cooperation projects was formed in energy, geology, chemistry, construction, finance, agriculture, and other sectors. The Investment Fund, established several years ago, plays an important role in advancing these projects.
An agreement was also reached on fully mobilizing the potential of the regions. To this end, this month the governors of Tashkent city, Bukhara, and Namangan regions visited Azerbaijan.
Another important area of cooperation was the transport and transit sector. The parties paid special attention to the joint development of the Trans-Caspian corridor, increasing the efficiency of logistics infrastructure, and stimulating cargo transportation.
Close cultural and humanitarian ties between the two peoples serve as a reliable bridge of friendship. Within the framework of the visit, the opening of a new building of the Pedagogical University named after Nizami Ganjavi and the commencement of work on establishing the "Azerbaijan" park in New Tashkent are envisaged.
By the end of the year, Days of Azerbaijani Culture will be held in Uzbekistan, as well as the second forum of rectors of higher education institutions in Azerbaijan.
It is also expected that the production of a joint feature film dedicated to the literary heritage of Nizami Ganjavi and Alisher Navoi will be one of the significant events in the cultural life of the countries.
According to a FIFA decision, next year Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan will jointly host the FIFA U-20 World Cup. An agreement was reached to implement a large-scale program "Two Countries — One Championship" within the framework of the major sporting event.
At the end of his speech, the head of state expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart for supporting the proposals and initiatives put forward.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that the outcomes of this historic visit will enrich cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan with concrete practical content, opening new horizons for expanding joint projects and the sustainable development of the two fraternal countries.
