Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev opened the new campus of the Pedagogical University named after Nizami.
The complex is planned to include academic buildings for a total of 20,000 students, as well as dormitories with 5,000 beds.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the ceremony of the grand opening of the new campus of the Nizami National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan in New Tashkent.

At the beginning of the event, the heads of state planted a tree near the monument to Nizami Ganjavi.

The presidents were informed about the construction processes of the university complex, the educational infrastructure, and the prospects for the development of the campus.

The construction of the new campus, being built on an area of 40 hectares, is being carried out in two stages. The complex is planned to include academic buildings designed for a total of 20,000 students, as well as dormitories with 5,000 beds. Within the framework of the first stage, a five-story academic building with a capacity of 12,000 places and a modern laboratory complex have been completed.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev familiarized themselves with the educational and scientific environment created at the campus, the information and resource center, and the museum exhibition dedicated to the legacy of Nizami Ganjavi.

The museum exhibition features materials reflecting the life and work of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, his rich spiritual legacy, as well as the centuries-old cultural and literary ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

At the event, it was emphasized that ties in the fields of education, science, and culture are of great importance in bringing the two fraternal peoples closer together and raising the younger generation in the spirit of common spiritual values.

The new campus, with its modern educational and scientific infrastructure, will serve to expand the opportunities for training pedagogical personnel.
