In the USA, a mother shot and killed her 11-month-old son to avoid giving him to his father.
The woman was dissatisfied with the custody rights granted to the child's father.

A 36-year-old woman in the US has been found guilty of killing her 11-month-old son. The New York Post reported this.
According to the prosecution, Madelyn Veronica Daly violated a court order and took the child from Wyoming to New Mexico. The woman was dissatisfied with the custody rights granted to the child's father.
On December 23, police located her in a parking lot. Shortly after law enforcement officers surrounded the building, a gunshot was heard from inside. When police entered, it was determined that the child had died from a bullet fired from a 9mm weapon. The woman then attempted to take her own life, but police officers prevented this.
According to investigators, Daly stated that she believed killing the child was "worth it" so that the boy's father and his relatives would never see him again.
Daly has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. She could be sentenced to life in prison.
