Apple has unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max.
Pre-orders for the new models can be placed starting September 12. The devices will go on sale from September 18.

Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones on September 9. The new devices are equipped with the A20 Pro chip built on 2-nanometer technology, a 48-megapixel main camera with variable aperture, and a smaller Dynamic Island.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are available in black, silver, blue, and burgundy. The back cover of the devices is also matched to the body color.
One of the key innovations of the new smartphones is the A20 Pro chip. It is built on 2-nanometer technology and features a 6-core central processor. The graphics processor on the chip consists of 7 cores, and according to Apple, graphics performance has increased by 40 percent. A second neural engine has also been added to the device, bringing the number of NPU cores to 32.
Apple has used a new-generation vapor chamber cooling system for the iPhone 18 Pro. Its surface area is three times larger than the system in the iPhone 17 Pro.
Battery life has also been extended. Video playback lasts up to 36 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. According to the company, a 15-minute wired charge of the iPhone 18 Pro provides enough power for 6 hours of video playback.
The iPhone 18 Pro features a 48-megapixel main camera with variable aperture. The aperture mechanism consists of six very thin layers. In low-light conditions, the aperture widens to allow more light into the camera. Apple stated that this enables faster and higher-quality night shots.
The new models also offer the ability to shoot time-lapse videos in 4K quality in Dolby Vision HDR format.
Apple has also introduced the Pro Controls feature for the camera. It allows users to manually control parameters such as exposure and shutter speed while capturing photos and videos. The ability to adjust texture and grain in photographic styles has also been added.
On the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the Dynamic Island cutout has been reduced in size. It can now display three Live Activities simultaneously.
The new smartphones are optimized to work with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI. The presentation also showcased Siri working with more expressive voices.
The 256 GB version of the iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the 256 GB version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1,299. This is $100 more expensive than the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro.
Pre-orders for the new models begin on September 12. The devices will go on sale on September 18.
The presentation was the first major event led by Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus. He succeeded Tim Cook on September 1, with Cook moving to the position of executive chairman of the company’s board of directors.
