In rural districts, the social tax for enterprises that employ those in need will be 2 percent.

A meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the work being carried out to increase employment and incomes of the population in the regions.

At the meeting, the implementation of the tasks set at the videoconference meeting held on September 3, the activities of the regional headquarters, and the use of available opportunities were critically analyzed.

In particular, opportunities to increase employment by launching unused production capacities were also considered.

Among other things, it was criticized that a textile enterprise in the Kushkupir district, built for 43 million euros and designed for 1,300 jobs, has not been operating since the beginning of the year. It was noted that the enterprise could be launched at full capacity by engaging a crisis manager through the bank.

It was also stated that 10,000 jobs could be restored by reviewing the restrictions imposed on assets worth 6 trillion soums of 124 enterprises and transferring them to bank management.

Using the example of the "Oqoltin mega tekstil" enterprise in the Oqoltin district, it was demonstrated that instead of selling ready-made facilities transferred to banks' balance sheets in parts, hundreds of people could be provided with jobs by relaunching them.

Overall, state banks hold nearly 2,500 properties worth 10 trillion soums on their balance sheets. There is an opportunity to restore up to 40,000 jobs by putting them to effective use.

Officials were instructed to conduct a full inventory within one week of enterprises transferred to banks' balance sheets due to debt. By the end of the year, measures will be taken to sell these facilities as integrated production units or to appoint managers and restore their operations.

Additionally, starting from October 1, for enterprises in rural districts that hire members of needy families, the social tax rate for these employees will be set at 2 percent.
