Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against Lukashenko
The restrictions include prohibiting the Belarusian leader's entry into Ukraine, freezing assets, restricting trade and transit operations, as well as prohibiting the execution of financial operations.

Vladimir Zelensky announced the imposition of sanctions against Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko. It was emphasized that this decision is aimed at protecting Ukraine's national security and sovereignty. He announced this on his Telegram channel.
"Alexander Lukashenko has long been trading Belarus's sovereignty for personal power and helping Russians circumvent sanctions," Zelensky wrote.
According to official information, the sanctions package includes a number of restrictive measures against the Belarusian leader and entities associated with him. These include, in particular, a ban on entry into Ukraine, asset freezes, restrictions on trade and transit operations, as well as a ban on conducting financial transactions. Some sanctions may be indefinite.
Ukrainian officials explained these measures with accusations of Belarus's military-political cooperation with Russia, as well as its assistance to Russia in circumventing international sanctions.
In September 2025, the Belarusian president said that Minsk supports Russia in resolving the Ukrainian conflict and will continue to do so. Lukashenko stressed that "time will tell who is right and who is wrong."
Zelensky's statement specifically noted the deployment of Russian military infrastructure on Belarusian territory, including the increased activity of strike drones and missile systems. The Ukrainian side emphasizes that such actions pose a threat to regional security.
The Ukrainian leader also cited information about Belarusian enterprises supplying machinery and special equipment to the Russian military-industrial complex. He stressed that this is being assessed as indirect assistance in the conduct of military operations against Ukraine.
