In Saint Petersburg, a simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship was proposed to an Uzbek hero.
Thus, Governor Alexander Beglov presented the "For Courage in Rescue" breast badge to Khayrullo Ibodullayev, who saved a child who had fallen from the 7th floor.

Russian State Duma deputy Nikolai Novichkov has proposed raising the issue of granting Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure to Khayrullo Ibadullayev from Uzbekistan, who saved a child from disaster in Saint Petersburg.
The deputy emphasized that the courage shown by Khayrullo Ibadullayev deserves special recognition and reward. In his comments to the TASS agency, he noted the need to apply incentive mechanisms for individuals who have shown heroism.
It should be recalled that on February 22 of this year, a seven-year-old child fell from a seventh-floor window of an apartment building in Saint Petersburg. Khayrullo Ibadullayev, a 36-year-old street cleaner working in the area, acted quickly and caught the falling child.
According to the deputy, such heroism is a rare occurrence and is worthy of at least a state award and public respect. In this regard, it was noted that if the hero expresses such a desire, the issue of granting him citizenship under a simplified procedure could be considered.
Furthermore, according to Margarita Simonyan, Ibadullayev was awarded a monetary prize of 1 million rubles within the framework of the Tigran Keosayan award given to individuals who have shown heroism.
Saint Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov also presented the Uzbek citizen with the "For Courage in Rescue" breast badge.
This act of heroism was also highly valued by Uzbekistan, and in accordance with a decree by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Khayrullo Ibadullayev was awarded the "Courage" medal. Khayrullo Ibadullayev was also given a plane ticket to return to Uzbekistan.
In an interview given to the media, the hero himself stated that he plans to master the Russian language perfectly and apply for Russian citizenship in the future.
