4 suspects arrested in Istanbul in connection with the murder of a Turkish businessman in Bukhara

On October 17, 2025, the body of a man partially covered with soil was discovered in the Qorovulbozor district of the Bukhara region. This crime was uncovered as a result of prompt investigative measures conducted in cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey.

According to a report by Turkey's Habertürk publication, the body was found by a shepherd grazing livestock in the area. During the initial investigative actions, it was determined that the deceased had been stabbed to death.

The state license plate of a car that passed near the scene of the incident was identified, and it was established that this vehicle had been rented by a Turkish citizen, Suat T. (51), residing in Istanbul. When the car underwent forensic examination, blood traces were detected using luminol. It was confirmed that the obtained biological samples matched the material taken from the body.

Subsequently, the identity of the deceased was established as a Turkish citizen, 49-year-old Kadir Tunch. A missing person report had been filed by his relatives on June 3, 2025. DNA samples sent by Uzbekistan were compared with samples taken from the deceased's children in Turkey, and his identity was officially confirmed.

As a result of prompt search operations conducted by Turkish law enforcement agencies, Suat T. and three other suspects were apprehended in Istanbul.

According to investigation information, Kadir Tunch and Suat T. had come to Uzbekistan to discuss opening a restaurant. However, a disagreement arose between the parties. According to the suspect's testimony, he had provided $20,000 USD for the business project, and when the agreement was canceled, he demanded the return of this money. During the conflict, an argument broke out and the incident occurred.

In his testimony, the suspect stated that the body was unloaded from the car, taken to the roadside, and covered with soil, after which they returned to Turkey. It was later established that another person was sent to Uzbekistan for the purpose of returning the car.

Currently, the suspects have been apprehended and, after the investigative actions are completed, will be handed over to judicial authorities. Investigative work to determine the details of the crime is ongoing.
