In Tashkent, students are forced to cross through pipes due to the lack of a bridge over the canal.

Videos have circulated on social media showing schoolchildren in the Sergeli district of Tashkent city crossing a canal via pipes due to the absence of a safe bridge.

According to reports, the situation was observed in the area of the Jo'nariq neighborhood. It is said that first-grade students and other schoolchildren are forced to use pipes installed over a narrow water channel to get to school. This causes the children to risk their lives every day on their commute.

Regarding the situation, the Sergeli district administration issued an official statement. According to the agency, the video was taken in the area bordering the Yuqori Darxon and Jo'nariq neighborhoods.

It is noted that relevant decisions by the Tashkent city mayor have been adopted regarding the reconstruction of the bridge crossing the Salar canal.

It is reported that construction work is planned to begin within the next 5–10 days. Within the project framework, a new bridge will be built, separate pedestrian walkways will be organized, and road surfacing repair work will be carried out.
