The body of the Samarkand woman killed in Turkey has been brought to Uzbekistan.

The body of 46-year-old Dilafruz Chulliyeva, originally from Samarkand, who was killed in Turkey, has been returned to Uzbekistan. The Consulate General in Istanbul reported this.

It was reported that the body of the deceased was brought to Uzbekistan with the assistance of Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Istanbul and the Agency for External Labor Migration.

Dilafruz Chulliyeva went missing after leaving her workplace in the Balıkesir region of Turkey for an unknown destination on January 25, 2026. Following this, her son appealed to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

After the appeal, Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions in Turkey sent a note to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and search operations began in cooperation with the General Directorate of Security of the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Search operations were carried out by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ankara, the Consulate General in Istanbul, diaspora representatives, lawyers, and social media activists. On February 28, 2026, an unidentified body was found in a forest area of the Balıkesir district.

As the body had been left for a long time, it was not possible to identify it by appearance. Therefore, a DNA test was conducted by comparing samples from the found body and the deceased's son, confirming that the body belonged to Dilafruz Chulliyeva.

Four individuals suspected in this crime have been detained. The investigation is currently ongoing.

Officials expressed condolences to the relatives of the deceased and urged against spreading unverified information on social media.
