The experience of Uzbekistan in protecting women's rights was presented at the UN headquarters.
The representative of Uzbekistan delivered a speech at a side event of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held at the UN Headquarters in New York on March 11.

This event was dedicated to the theme "Utilizing Digital and Intellectual Technologies in Protecting Women's Rights." It was organized in cooperation with China, Malaysia, Egypt, and the UN structures "UN-Women" and UNFPA. The press service of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights informed Zamon.uz about this.
It was reported that the event featured congratulatory speeches by high-ranking representatives from UN member states and international organizations, including the head of the Chinese delegation, Deputy Director of the National Working Committee on Children and Women under the State Council of the People's Republic of China, Lin Yi; Malaysia's Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. Ahmad Faisal Muhammad; and a member of the National Council for Women's Affairs, head of the African Alliance for Expanding Women's Rights and Opportunities, Dr. Amani Asfour.
The joint event was attended by UN-Women Executive Director Sima Bahous and UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Deputy Executive Director Diene Keita.
Within the framework of the main session, Deputy Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, Dilnoza Muratova, delivered a presentation. In her speech, she presented Uzbekistan's experience in promoting gender equality, protecting women's rights, and expanding their opportunities in the context of digital transformation.
In particular, it was noted that in New Uzbekistan, a comprehensive state policy is being implemented aimed at ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, increasing women's digital literacy, expanding their participation in the field of innovations and technologies, as well as preventing digital violence and discrimination.
The representative of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of international cooperation in combating the threats of the digital era, such as algorithmic gender bias, digital inequality, and violence in the online space. Attention was drawn to the necessity of developing effective legal mechanisms and utilizing modern technologies to ensure women's access to fair justice.
Within the framework of the event, participants exchanged advanced international experiences on using artificial intelligence, big data, and other digital solutions to protect women's rights, improve the quality of social services, and expand women's economic opportunities.
Uzbekistan's participation in this event once again confirmed the country's commitment to active cooperation with the international community in promoting gender equality and developing innovative approaches to protecting the rights and interests of women.
