President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held talks.
The discussion covered issues of further expanding strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Ilham Aliyev on March 19. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
According to the report, at the beginning of the conversation, the heads of state sincerely congratulated each other on the upcoming Ramadan holiday and Navruz, wishing peace and prosperity to their peoples.
During the conversation, issues of further expanding Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and allied relations were discussed. In particular, special attention was paid to implementing the agreements reached at the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council.
Furthermore, the parties noted that the volume of mutual trade is steadily growing, and joint projects are being advanced in trade-economic, investment, transport, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The leaders also discussed the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing that its escalation could pose a serious threat to the regional and world economy, and that the problem must be resolved only through political and diplomatic means.
The plan for upcoming bilateral and multilateral events was also reviewed during the conversation.
