Shavkat Mirziyoyev planted seedlings in the territory of the National Dendrology Park.
Nearly 21,000 citizens across Uzbekistan participated in planting seedlings on an area of 164 hectares.

A tree planting event took place in the area of the National Dendrology Park being established on 108 hectares in Uzbekistan.
It was reported that on the basis of the "Green" university in the park area, an "in-vitro" laboratory, Medicinal Plants, and Seed Breeding and Selection Centers are being built based on the "science - project - practice" chain. It is planned to launch these facilities within the current year.
"Our people did not say 'A good deed leaves a garden', 'One sapling - a thousand blessings', 'If you see a child, hold a wedding, plant a tree' for no reason. We all feel in our daily lives that the importance of such wise words is becoming more relevant now than ever," said the President.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the heads of mahallas, our fathers and mothers, representatives of women, and all activists, calling on them to more widely promote our national customs, traditions, and values locally, to encourage the residents of mahallas to engage in such good deeds in a spirit of unity and harmony, to organize clubs and communities, and to lead the youth in planting saplings and flowers along every street, household, and roadside, and trees and shrubs on hills and slopes.
"Because, every sapling planted with good intention is life, it is clean air, it is a healthy environment, it is the future!" said the head of state.
During the event, the President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to foreign guests, including the Chair of the UN Forum on Forests, Ismael Belen, the Director of the Forum Secretariat, Juliet Biao, and representatives of the diplomatic corps in Uzbekistan.
After that, the President, together with the event participants, planted ornamental saplings on the initial 5 hectares of the park.
Simultaneously, nearly 21,000 citizens across the republic participated in planting 88,000 saplings on an area of 164 hectares.
