The President of Uzbekistan supports further development of inter-parliamentary cooperation with Russia.

On April 7, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
It was reported that at the beginning of the conversation, the head of state sincerely congratulated Valentina Matviyenko on her birthday and wished her strong health, happiness, and great success.
It was noted with particular satisfaction that the parliaments of the two countries are actively contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.
Meetings of the commission on cooperation between the upper houses of parliaments are held annually. Cooperation within the framework of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS has also been effectively established.
At the end of the conversation, the leader of Uzbekistan once again confirmed his support for the development of close and fruitful cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.
