It will take six months to clear the Hormuz Strait of mines — Pentagon

The Pentagon informed U.S. lawmakers that clearing mines from the Strait of Hormuz could take approximately six months. This was reported by the Associated Press agency.

It is noted that this information was presented during a closed briefing held on Tuesday by the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee.

According to the source, during the meeting, lawmakers raised numerous questions regarding the cost, strategy, and objectives of military actions against Iran. However, the discussions raised new questions rather than providing more clarity.

Members of Congress also highlighted that there is still no clear answer regarding the strike on a school complex in Iran's Minab city during the initial stages of the war.

It was previously reported that Iran was unable to fully open the sea route due to difficulties in identifying and neutralizing mines placed in the Strait of Hormuz.

It was stated that many of the mines in the strait were placed haphazardly and without recorded coordinates, while some explosive devices were deliberately set adrift.
