The Pope of Rome stated that he carries with him a photo of a Muslim child who died in Lebanon.
When the boy went to the father's country, he was among those who welcomed him.

Pope Leo XIV announced at a press conference held on board the plane at the end of his trip to Africa that he carries with him a photo of a Muslim boy killed in Lebanon. AP reported this.
It is noted that the boy was killed during the recent conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. He was photographed holding a placard to welcome the pope during Leo XIV's visit to Lebanon last year.
Furthermore, the pontiff called on the US and Iran to return to negotiations to end the war. The Pope emphasized the need to foster a "culture of peace" instead of resorting to violence when conflict arises.
According to him, the main issue is not changing the Iranian regime, but finding ways to promote common values without many innocent people becoming victims.
During the trip, the Pope urged the parties to resume diplomatic dialogue, against the backdrop of open disputes that arose with US President Donald Trump over the issue of war.
Additionally, while acknowledging that states have the right to control their borders, he noted the necessity of maintaining a humane approach towards migrants.
At the press conference, the Pope expressed a strong stance against the death penalty. He condemned all unjust punishments, emphasizing that human life must be respected and protected from birth until natural death.
"Decisions by any state or regime that lead to the unjust taking of human life must be condemned," he said.
