Attendance in some schools in Tashkent is monitored through "smart" cameras.

Reports on social media about the introduction of monitoring school students' attendance through "smart" cameras have sparked discussions. The Ministry of Preschool and School Education has issued an official statement on the matter.

It has been reported that "smart" cameras are currently being installed on a trial basis in some schools in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent city. They are expected to help organize the attendance monitoring process more efficiently.

It is noted that such technologies will enable not only school administration but also parents to monitor their children's attendance and safety online.

According to information, based on the regulation approved by the joint decision of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, and the Association of Mahallas of Uzbekistan dated September 18, 2025, student attendance is currently recorded through the e-maktab platform. Accordingly, attendance in each class is determined daily by subject teachers and class supervisors.

According to the regulation, the inspector-psychologist working at the school sends an official warning to the parents or their substitutes of students who are absent from classes without a valid reason.

It demands ensuring the child's regular school attendance and warns that failure to fulfill this obligation may result in liability in accordance with the law.

Furthermore, if it is determined that students are regularly absent from classes, parents or their substitutes may be held liable under Article 47 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
