Iran attacked the UAE with missiles and drones.

As a result of the attacks, a fire broke out at an oil facility in Fujairah, and three people were injured.

Iran attacked the UAE with missiles and drones.

The United Arab Emirates has accused Iran of launching missile and drone strikes on its territory. Al Jazeera reported this.

According to officials, the strikes caused a fire in the oil industry area of the Fujairah emirate, and three Indian citizens were injured.

The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that air defense systems intercepted 12 ballistic missiles, 3 cruise missiles, and 4 drones launched by Iran during the day. Some strikes resulted in a "major fire" in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone area.

These attacks are being assessed as the first strikes on the UAE since the truce reached between Iran and the US on April 8. The incident occurred against the backdrop of an initiative put forward by US President Donald Trump to escort stranded tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks as "unjustified and terrorist acts targeting civilian objects," stating that the country reserves the "right to respond lawfully" to protect its security and sovereignty.

Tehran, however, denies the accusations. The state broadcaster IRIB, citing a military source, reported that Iran had no pre-planned program to strike oil facilities.

Against the backdrop of the attacks, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has also escalated. UAE officials reported that Iran struck a tanker belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company with drones. According to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, there were no casualties in the incident, and the ship was not loaded.

The international community strongly condemned the incident. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain expressed their support for the UAE. Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom called on Iran not to escalate tensions. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described the strikes as a "blatant violation of international law and sovereignty."

According to experts, these events could further heighten tensions in the region at a time when negotiations between the US and Iran have reached an impasse.
