In Nurobod, pistachio plantations will be established on an area of 50,000 hectares.
In the initial phase of these events, it is planned to provide employment to 500 local residents on the basis of contract agreements.

The Forestry Agency under the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change organized a press tour on the topic "Important aspects of establishing pistachio plantations and expected results" at the Saroyqo'rg'on state forestry enterprise in the Nurobod district of Samarkand region.

The event was attended by officials from the Republican Forestry Agency and the Regional Ecology Department, heads of local state forestry enterprises, scientists, foresters, community activists, and representatives of mass media.
During the press tour, journalists were provided with detailed information about the goals and expected results of the pistachio plantation establishment project being implemented in the Nurobod district.

Speaking at the event, the Director of the Saroyqo'rg'on state forestry enterprise, Ahmad Sag'dullayev, informed journalists about the activities to be carried out during the implementation of this project.
"It is planned to establish pistachio plantations on a total area of 50,000 hectares in the Nurobod district from 2026 until the end of 2036. In 2026, it is planned to establish intensive pistachio plantations on an area of 5,000 hectares, create water supply infrastructure, and introduce modern agricultural technologies. For these activities, it is intended to allocate 21 billion soums this year, and to install 40 vertical wells and 40 membranes in the area," said A. Sag'dullayev. "In the initial phase of these activities, it is planned to provide employment for 500 local residents based on contract agreements. It has been determined that each of them will be assigned pistachio plots of 10 hectares."
It is worth noting that during the spring season of this year, pistachio plantations were established in the district on a total area of 542 hectares: 252 hectares from seedlings and 290 hectares from seeds. Currently, land preparation work based on agrotechnical rules is ongoing for pistachio planting in the autumn season.

According to experts, this initiative serves to restore degraded lands and use them effectively. According to agrotechnical requirements, pistachio trees begin to bear fruit in the 6th-7th year, and high yields are achieved starting from the 12th year.

Afterwards, the processes of planting and caring for pistachios under the district's conditions were demonstrated on-site by experts. During the press tour, officials provided detailed answers to journalists' questions on the topic.

It is worth mentioning that these days, the "Yashilloyiha" Institute under the Ecology Committee is conducting land surveys, soil-climate analysis, and developing planting schemes. The project aims to prevent land degradation, increase the volume of export-oriented products, ensure employment for the population, and maintain the ecological stability of the area.
