The Prime Minister of Armenia will not participate in the May 9 events in Moscow.
The Russian Foreign Ministry objected to Nikol Pashinyan's decision.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he will not participate in the celebrations to be held in Moscow on May 9. He communicated this decision to Vladimir Putin during his visit to Russia on April 1. DW reported on this.
According to the official explanation, the cancellation of the visit was due to the start of the election campaign in the country. Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, and based on their results, a new head of government will be determined.
Against this backdrop, Russian Foreign Ministry official spokesperson Maria Zakharova accused Yerevan of failing to comply with its previously given commitment "not to act against Russia." She also criticized Armenia for hosting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, emphasizing that this situation has caused discontent among the Russian public.
Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico also announced that he would not participate in the parade on Red Square but would go to Moscow to meet with Putin and lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Let us remind you that at the beginning of this week, the first-ever bilateral summit between the European Union and Armenia took place. Zelenskyy also participated in it.
During the meeting held in Yerevan, issues of expanding cooperation in the areas of security and defense, energy, transport, and digitalization, as well as the situation in Ukraine and the consequences of the war in Iran, were discussed.
