President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited participants of World War II and labor front veterans on May 8, congratulating them on the holiday. The President's press service reported this.

It was reported that the head of state had a heartfelt conversation with Akmal ota Akramov, Vera Zhuravskaya, Hasanboy ota Khalmatov, and Vladimir Alekseikov at the Main Military Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces. He inquired about the condition and health of the veterans. He particularly acknowledged their arduous life journey and the courage they demonstrated.
"You are living witnesses of history, symbols of resilience. Meeting people as venerable as you and listening to your advice gives us great spiritual strength. Our people are justifiably proud of you. Today's peaceful and free days, the happy future of generations, are the result of your unparalleled dedication. Your exemplary life path is a true school of fortitude for our youth," said the President.

It is noted that, in accordance with the President's decision dated April 16 of this year, high respect is being shown to war and labor veterans. Participants of World War II, home front veterans, and family members of military personnel who died while performing their duty during the years of independence are under the constant care of Uzbekistan. Along with providing them material and moral support, preferential vouchers to the country's best sanatoriums have been allocated for their health recovery.

"The Creator has granted you a long life and the happiness of living under the care of the people as a reward for your patriotism and selfless labor. Your prayers are a blessing for the safety of our country and for our work," said the President.

During the meeting, the veterans expressed gratitude to the head of state for the reforms being implemented in the country to restore historical memory and honor the elderly.
