During a working visit to the city of Baku, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. This was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan here.

It was reported that at the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan sincerely congratulated the leader of Azerbaijan on the successful organization of the World Urbanization Forum.
Within the framework of implementing the agreements reached during previous high-level dialogues, pressing issues of further developing and strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were discussed.

The positive trend in trade turnover was noted. Since the beginning of the year, the volume of mutual trade has increased by more than 40 percent. Cooperation projects in construction, mining, energy, agriculture, tourism, and other sectors are being successfully implemented.
The importance of accelerating these projects and further expanding joint investments, including by attracting funds from the Joint Investment Company, was emphasized.

The leaders also discussed issues of implementing transport initiatives and expanding cooperation on the development of international transport corridors. The plan for upcoming high-level events was reviewed.
