In the Namangan region, an investigator and a lawyer were detained for bribery and mediation. The State Security Service reported this.
According to the report, an investigator from the Investigation Department of the Namangan Regional Internal Affairs Directorate demanded $40,000 through a lawyer not involved in the case, in exchange for favorably resolving and closing a criminal case against a citizen born in 2006, residing in the Chust district, which was under their investigation.
During an operational operation in the Chust district, the lawyer from the Bar Association was caught red-handed while receiving $40,000 from the suspect's father.
Subsequently, the operational operation continued, and the investigator was stopped while receiving $30,000 from the lawyer, putting an end to the illegal activity.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against the investigator under Article 210 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and against the lawyer under Article 212 (mediation in bribery) of the Criminal Code, with the preventive measure of "detention" applied.
