145 medals, a historic result: Uzbekistan's Paralympians in the strong top three
This was the best result in the history of the delegation.
The Uzbekistan delegation recorded its best result in history at the 5th Summer Asian Para Games held in Japan on October 18–24.
Our country's athletes won a total of 145 medals at the competition. Of these, 45 are gold, 49 are silver, and 51 are bronze medals.
As a result, Uzbekistan took third place in the overall team standings, after China and Japan. This is two positions higher than the previous best result of our country's delegation.
During the competition, our athletes broke world and Asian records and also set Asian Para Games records. Our delegation's representative Boburbek Toshtemirov also won a gold medal at the competition and recorded a record result.
This result is a vivid example of the rise of Uzbek parasport, the fortitude of our athletes, and their confidence in victory.
