Liability for allowing children to drive vehicles in Uzbekistan will be strengthened.
It was noted that incidents involving death and serious injuries on the roads are being observed as a result of minors driving vehicles.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on issues of improving legislation aimed at protecting public health and the nation's gene pool from drug addiction, as well as ensuring the safety of road users here.
During the presentation, issues of improving the system for combating drug addiction and drug-related crimes in line with modern requirements, preventing the spread of this vice among young people, and strengthening preventive measures in this regard were discussed.
Special attention was also paid to the prevention of road traffic accidents. It was noted that as a result of some citizens allowing minors to drive vehicles, incidents involving fatalities and serious bodily injuries are occurring on the roads.
In this regard, the necessity of introducing new mechanisms to ensure compliance with traffic rules, preventing accidents with severe consequences, and strengthening liability measures in this area was emphasized.
The head of state approved proposals aimed at organizing the fight against drug addiction and drug-related crimes based on modern approaches, protecting young people from this vice, as well as ensuring human life and safety on the roads, and gave relevant instructions to the responsible authorities on the discussed issues.
