Was there negligence by rescuers in the tragedy at the polyclinic in Andijan?
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has clarified the circulating messages.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations denied reports that rescuers were allegedly negligent during the incident in the Marhamat district, where four clinic employees died in a well.
The incident occurred on June 10 at midday on the premises of the Marhamat district central clinic. Initially, one of the technical staff descended into the well to adjust the pump motor without observing safety rules. Due to toxic gases accumulated inside the well, he lost consciousness.
Subsequently, three other technical staff members who tried to help him also descended into the well one after another and died from poisoning by the toxic gases.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers from the Marhamat district Emergency Situations Department arrived at the scene as soon as the report of the incident was received. The head of the district department stated that by the time the rescuers arrived, the four employees inside the well showed no signs of life. It was reported that this situation is also confirmed by video footage.
A special unit of the Andijan regional Emergency Situations Department, specializing in radiation and chemical protection, was called in to retrieve the bodies of the deceased from the well.
The department also emphasized that reports claiming the people in the well were alive and calling for help when the rescuers arrived, but that no assistance was provided due to a lack of special protective equipment, do not correspond to reality.
