A US court has demanded the disclosure of the names of Epstein's associates.
If the Ministry of Justice fails to comply with this requirement, the court must separately justify why each document or its redacted part should be kept confidential.

A US federal court has ordered the Department of Justice to disclose certain documents in the case of controversial financier Jeffrey Epstein, including the names of his potential associates, or to legally justify why each redacted portion of the documents was sealed. This is stated in a court document reviewed by RIA Novosti, as reported.
It was reported that in April 2026, journalist Katie Pang filed a lawsuit against the US Department of Justice and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. She accused the department of concealing the names of Epstein's potential associates and unjustifiably redacting large portions of case documents.
According to the court ruling, the Department of Justice must release, by July 2, eight letters showing the full names of senders and recipients, two documents listing the names of potential associates, initial service records related to four Federal Bureau of Investigation reports, as well as materials obtained from abroad.
If the department fails to comply with this requirement, it must separately justify to the court why each document or its redacted portion should remain confidential.
Additionally, the Department of Justice is required to publish in the Federal Register a list of all redacted portions of the documents and regularly update this list as new materials in the Epstein case are disclosed.
It is worth recalling that in 2019, Jeffrey Epstein was charged in the US with sex trafficking of minors. He died in prison in July of that year. The investigation concluded that he committed suicide.
US Deputy Attorney General (currently Acting Attorney General) Todd Blanche announced on January 30 of this year that the process of releasing documents in the Epstein case had been completed.
The volume of disclosed materials exceeds 3.5 million files.
