In Sirdarya, two Internal Affairs Department officers committed a crime and were imprisoned.
One of them was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month of imprisonment, and the other to 6 years and 1 month.

A court verdict has been issued in Sirdarya regarding two former employees of the Khovos district Internal Affairs Department (IIB) for the crimes of accepting bribes and falsifying evidence. They demanded 35 million soums from a citizen in exchange for converting a criminal case into an administrative offense.
According to the "Zamon" program, the incident was discovered after an appeal from the head of a farm in Khovos district. He had contacted the IIB regarding large-scale damage caused by an illegal situation on his land plot.
During the investigation, it was established that the suspect had caused damage to the farmer amounting to around 30–40 million soums. However, two IIB employees fabricated false evidence in order to conceal the crime.
They told the head of the farm that the suspect would not be able to fully compensate for the damage, and that they would recover 10–12 million soums from him. Later, they intimidated the suspect, claiming he had caused 50 million soums in damage and that he would be imprisoned if he did not pay this amount.
The suspect initially brought 24 million soums. The employees gave 12 million of it to the victim, promising that no criminal case would be opened regarding the remaining situation and that the case would be reviewed administratively in court.
The employees were apprehended during an operational operation while receiving the remaining 11 million soums of the agreed 35 million soums.
By the verdict of the Saykhunobod district court on criminal cases, the former employees were found guilty of accepting bribes and falsifying evidence. One of them was sentenced to 5 years and 1 month, and the other to 6 years and 1 month of imprisonment.
The court also issued a special ruling on preventing similar crimes and sent it to the Sirdarya regional IIB.
