Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed concern about the country's declining population.
According to TRT Haber television channel, he spoke about this to journalists on a plane returning from Ethiopia. The President emphasized that Turkey is paying special attention to family matters this year and making them a top priority.
The Turkish leader stated that the country's population is decreasing and that the recorded figures are bringing the situation to a "worrying state."
It should be noted that the natural population increase through births has reached its lowest point in the country. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Turkey's population increased by 427,224 people compared to the previous year, reaching 86,092,168 people in 2025.
