13 states in the US sued Trump.
This is due to the cancellation of $1.2 billion in financing allocated for renewable energy projects.
Thirteen U.S. states have filed a lawsuit against the White House administration over the federal government's decision to cancel funding for clean energy projects. TASS reports this, citing the press service of the Governor of California.
According to the information, a coalition of states led by California considers the cancellation of $1.2 billion in funds intended for renewable energy and infrastructure projects approved by Congress to be unlawful. The lawsuit has also been supported by officials from the states of Colorado, Washington, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
California Governor Gavin Newsom criticized the federal government's decision, stating that halting the funding threatens the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs and could negatively impact economic benefits in the healthcare sector amounting to billions of dollars annually. According to him, this decision also harms the country's global competitiveness in the clean energy sector.
